Activities
The story teaches a main lesson followed by activities to reinforce it. Each activity includes extra challenges and things to talk about.
- Joy in Your Name – use the letters of your name to create an acrostic poem
- The Law of Change – use a busy room in your house and draw pictures of it throughout the day to observe how much things can change
- What’s in Rocky’s Mouth – use imagination to make a fun prediction (the object will be revealed in Book 4, My Fair Cat)
- Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover – use gloomy and cheerful paper to wrap up objects to test what people are more likely to open
- Practice Makes Perfect – use a ball and different-sized objects as baskets to see how practice helps you get better and better
- Rocky Tail Twister – use practice to get faster at Rocky’s fun tongue twister
Plot Twists
In these twists, the characters make a choice that takes them off the path to their happy ending. Children complete a simple task to help the characters learn a lesson and get back on track.
- Put Yourself in Someone Else’s Paw – try on a pair of someone else’s shoes and see how it feels to walk in them to help Fassa be more understanding of Ally’s feelings
- Life is All About Purrrspective – smile at yourself for 20 seconds to encourage Rocky to see things in a happy way
